Greenwich Village is home to centuries of human history. Each tale on your ghost tour will give you a new opinion of the streets beneath your feet.

NYC Ghosts unearths a side of Greenwich Village that many people never hear about. Since its beginnings the village has been inundated by people seeking a new life, creating a history that is fascinating, tragic, and strange. Join us on a life-changing experience where we explore a side of New York that few are brave enough to see.

Strange and twisted – tour the darkest secrets of New York City

Take the NYC Ghosts tour and see some of the most haunted places in New York City.

Visit 8 or 12 haunted locations in and around Greenwich Village and see fascinating historical places that are home to some of the strangest stories you will ever hear.

The Jefferson Market Library

This architectural curiosity’s unique tower catches the eye, but let us show you a dark and macabre past. This building once served as a prison for Manhattan’s female criminals and served as its first night court. It’s no surprise that this building comes alive after dark as you hear the legend of the women at the window, who waves to passersby, dare you wave back?

The Triangle Factory Fire

Your expert local guide will talk you through the Triangle Shirtwaist Company Fire. This tragic event led to the death of nearly 150 people. Men, women, and children were forced to jump out of the windows of the ten-story building onto the street below in a last-chance bid for survival, not many people made it. Despite the tragedy of the event and the intensity of the inferno, the building survived. It was eventually transformed into a library and is currently used as classrooms for New York University. Despite the changes, the past cannot be erased, and the lost souls from that fiery night still remain trapped to this very day.

Famous Landmarks where Ghosts love to roam

So many places have otherworldly activities in New York. If you were expecting to enjoy a tranquil dinner at one particular restaurant, you might find yourself with disruptive guests. The “One if by Land, Two If by Sea” restaurant sits in the heart of the West Village. Behind its beautiful décor and amazing food hides a rather peculiar history. The restaurant operates today inside a carriage house built in 1767. At one time after that, it was a home, the building was then converted into a brothel and then a pub. Since the late 1700s, the area has been rumored to be haunted by Aaron Burr, Vice President from 1801 – 1804. Since 1910 the restaurant has had a steady stream of sightings and diners have often had very unusual experiences.

The history of the most romantic restaurant in New York City is a long one that is filled with mystery and intrigue.

Mark Twain’s House of Death

Although Mark Twain only lived for a year in this beautiful brownstone house, there are regular sightings of his ghost. People claim to see Mark Twain wearing a white suit. Sometimes he appears near the staircase or on the first floor. There have even been claims of the ghost speaking to shocked people when he suddenly appears in front of them. Mark Twain isn’t the only ghost that resides in this area either. There are reportedly dozens of ghosts haunting the street where Mark Twain once resided. Keep your eyes peeled and be prepared for the unexpected.

With so many tours and activities to choose from New York, how do you choose which ones to book?
